Syracuse pizzeria worker fatally shot in robbery

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a Syracuse pizzeria worker was fatally shot after trying to negotiate with an armed robber.

Local media report that 38-year-old Shqair Shqair died in a hospital Tuesday after being shot during an early-morning shooting at the counter of Sabatino's Pizza and Deli.

Syracuse police say a Shqair tried to negotiate with a masked suspect demanding money when he was shot.

The suspect fled without taking the money.

Police are investigating.
