Three sent to the hospital after accident in Rome

ROME, N.Y. (WKTV) - Three people are injured following a two-car accident Friday afternoon.

The accident took place at the intersection of River Street and State Route 365 in Rome at around 3:15 p.m.

Authorities say 74-year-old Sally Sanfilippo of Cicero was driving east bound on River Street when she failed to yield the right of way, while making a left turn on Route 365, and hitting another vehicle traveling west bound on River Street.

The two people in that car were taken two the hospital for treatment. Sanfilippo was hospitalized as well and ticketed.

The extent of their injuries was not released.
