Trenton Falls Trails see rare opening this weekend

TRENTON FALLS, N.Y. (WKTV) - Saturday's weather was just perfect for a nice hike through the Trenton Falls Trails. The trails are only open a few weekends each year.

The falls were an important tourist destination back in the 1800's. They follow a series of waterfalls created by the West Canada Creek, carving its way through millions of years of old limestone.

The trails are open again Sunday as well as next weekend.

In addition to trails opening, Trenton Falls has been captivating artists since the 1800's as well. During this two-weekend stretch, the first-ever Trenton Falls Arts Festival is also underway. Besides enjoying the artwork, wine tastings were offered by some of New York State's premier wineries and vineyards.
