Two arrested for allegedly stealing spikes from CSX Railroad

WHITESTOWN, N.Y. (WKTV) - Two local men are facing charges related to a theft on the CSX Railroad Friday.

Shane M. Witzigman, 29, of West Leyden and James A. Brower, 38, of Taberg were arrested and charged with third degree criminal trespass and petit larceny.

Whitestown Police said they responded to the CSX Railroad near Thomas Road at around 1:30 p.m. The duo were allegedly gathering steel spikes used to hold the rails to the railroad ties. After a brief foot pursuit they were taken into custody.

They were arraigned and taken to the Oneida County Correctional Facility.
