UPD: Domestic calls for 2012 nears 5,000

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Utica Police Department released figures for last year's domestic violence incidents.

In 2012 officers responded to 4,706 domestic violence calls. That averages out to almost 13 per day.

The department is working daily with the local YWCA, the district attorney's office, probation, and integrated courts to help victims of abuse.
