Verona man faces drug and weapon charges

VERONA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Verona man faces both drug and weapons charges after an investigation performed by the New York State Police's Community Narcotics Enforcement Team.

Richard G. Albanese, 54, of Wood Creek Road in Verona has been charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, third-degree
criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Authorities say the narcotics team executed a warrant at his home and found marijuana and numerous long guns as well as two assault style weapons.

Albanese has previous felony convictions in the the state and is prohibited from possessing any firearms, officials say.

He was arraigned before the Town of Verona Court and committed to The Oneida County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail/bond.
