UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Governor David Paterson has completed the Boilermaker 15K Road Race and becomes the first governor to run the 9.3 mile route. He finish just under 95 minutes and went right on to be interviewed by the media.

Paterson is an avid runner and ran a race on June 22 in New York City's Central Park. Paterson also ran the New York City Marathon in 1999 and finished in 6 hours and 6 minutes.

This was the Governor's second visit to the F.X. Matt Brewery. He came following the fire in May that destroyed the canning operations at the historic Brewery.

The legally blind Governor had surgery on his left eye on May 20 to relieve pain from acute glaucoma. Days later, he had another operation to prevent the problem from spreading to his right eye.
