UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - After the Boilermaker, at the post race party, there were a lot of options as to what to do. Some folks decided to relax and take it easy after the big race, while others decided to continue the fun.

Until almost noon Nick and the Nice Guys, played music and held down the Boilermaker post race party. Thousands hung around to enjoy the music and the frosty cold beverages. Volunteers spent hours pouring endless amounts of glasses.

For most people, this party was a regular stop on their Boilermaker weekend. However there were plenty who made the trip for the first time, and say they are thankful they did.

The party had its usual feel to it with lots of dancing, a fly over, and awards. However for one woman, the post race party was extra special with a message from her boyfriend

Lauren Hayes, "He just proposed by hanging a sign up over there above the brewery, when there was the fly over."

The clean up for the 2008 post race party will start as quick as the party itself started and the planning process for the 2009 party will start immediately.
