UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Volunteers are heading to the start of the Boilermaker Road Race to start cleaning up the course.

The Boilermaker Green Team is focusing on reducing the race's carbon footprint - increasing recycling, and reducing the amount of trash produced.

"Even if you can't join on the course, if you just take time, ten or fifteen minutes, in your house, in your neighborhood...anything you can do to help just keep America beautiful,' said Jim Stasaitis, Boilermaker Race Director.

Anyone interested in volunteering for the Boilermaker green team can fill out an application online at www.boilermaker.com
