Sauquoit comes out on top in 5K High School Challenge

UTICA – The 5K High School challenge is new this year, and numerous schools took part.

On the boys’ side: Sauquoit, Whitesboro, New Hartford, Clinton, Proctor, and Notre Dame High Schools faced off on the pavement, each bringing in a team of seven. Coming out on top was Sauquoit.

Jeremy Hogel and Sean Massoud both crossed the finish line at 17 minutes, 57 seconds.

For the girls, it was another first place finish for Sauquoit. The team faced off against New Hartford, Whitesboro, Waterville, RFA, and Clinton.

Bringing home the gold was Sauquoit’s Nicole Vanetten with a time of 22 minutes, 7 seconds.
