Boilermaker gives back to United Way

By WKTV News

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) – Boilermaker Executive Director Tim Reed presented a $3,000 check to United Way on Thursday.

The money was raised at the annual pasta dinner, where runners and their families pay $7 to load up on carbohydrates the night before the 15k road race.

Cindy Dardano, the pasta dinner coordinator, was alongside Tim Reed to present the check. She said it’s a proud moment each year to raise money for a good cause.

“The Boilermaker is such a part of this community and it's just wonderful that we are, to show that the boilermaker does give back. The pasta dinner is in its 16th year and every year all the proceeds, every penny goes to United Way,” said Dardano.

The $3,000 will go towards supporting 60 different local programs.
