Malnotti's Pizzeria and Deli opens its doors in Schuyler

SCHUYLER, N.Y. (WKTV) - A new business has opened its doors in Schuyler after a year and a half of renovations.

Malnotti's opened their doors for business on Wednesday.

The building that is now Malnotti's has been vacant since 1996. Over the past year and a half, the building, formerly Dino's Lounge on Route 5, has been completely gutted and has had a new electrical and water system installed to make it restaurant-ready.

"It was a building that needed a little bit of attention and we have started and worked through each project," says Christine Carino, owner of Malnotti's. "It's been an effort of close family and friends."

Carino says she has decorated the restaurant with finds from local rummage sales and area shops.

Malnotti's is a full service Italian eatery and delicatessen. Their specialties include a breakfast pizza and over-sized meatballs stuffed with cheese.

During a time where many businesses are moving out of the area, Christine says she is looking forward to taking a chance in the Mohawk Valley.
