No more trans fat: FDA banning the artery-clogger

WASHINGTON (AP) - It may be the end of trans fats in the American diet.

The Food and Drug Administration is telling the food industry to phase out trans fats because they're a threat to public health.

Heart-clogging trans fats were once a staple of the American diet and were plentiful in baked goods, microwave popcorn and fried foods.
