Shop Rome First kicks off local shopping initiative

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Rome Chamber started Shop Rome First 11 years ago. This year's theme is putting the social back into shopping.

The initiative brings together 53 businesses in the city offering incentives and fun.

Roberto Cavano, who works with the organization said, " There are actually three treasure hunts and there are 44 answers to questions throughout the community."

Download the form, then head to the stores to find the answers.

You also find incentives on Facebook, Twitter, and even Pinterest.

Some $2,000 worth of prizes are up for grabs in the form of gift cards.

Locomotion Hobby in Black River Plaza is just one of the businesses participating.

Stores like the Ski and Snowboard Warehouse and Zensations are all in on the deals.
