South Utica credit union robbed

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Police are investigating an armed bank robbery that took place Friday afternoon at the Empower Federal Credit Union on Genesee Street. The suspect has not yet been apprehended.

According to the Utica Police Captain James Watson, a male entered the bank, displayed a handgun and demanded money at around 4:10 p.m. on Friday.

The suspect was wearing dark blue or black pants, a blue hooded jacket and his face was covered.

Police say that the male left with more "an excess of 200 crisp, new, one-dollar bills." Officials however would not disclose the total amount stolen.
