SPRINGFIELD, N.Y. (WKTV) - State Police are seeking two men for questioning in regard to a home break-in that subsequently led to a car and then foot chase with authorities Tuesday night, starting in Otsego County and leading into Herkimer County.

State Police say that Mitchell Clark, 28, of Remsen, and another unidentified male are wanted in questioning for the Tuesday night incident.

According to authorities, it all started at a home along County Route 53 in the Town of Springfield between the hours of 6 and 7:15 p.m. On August 2, 2011.State Police said there was a forced entry burglary at the residence - a burglary that was interrupted by the homeowners, who had been out, arriving back home.

As those homeowners arrived, authorities said the intruders fled the scene in a green Chevrolet pick-up truck heading east on Route 53. That pick-up truck was spotted once it passed the Trooper Barracks in Richfield Springs.

A trooper noticed the car passing by and then pursued it, finally getting the suspects to pull over. Police say once the vehicle initially pulled over, it fled from the officer as well.

After fleeing the officer, the two suspects drove into Herkimer County and into a cornfield, jumping out and then fleeing on foot into a corn field, authorities stated.

State Police called in a helicopter and search dogs to the area to help with the investigation, but around midnight, they suspended the air search. However, authorities said the search for the suspects is continuing.

The two suspects are not considered armed or dangerous, but that the investigation continues.

According to the New York State Department of Corrections, Mitchell Clark was just released from Cape Vincent Correctional Facility in December on parole. He was convicted of burglary and criminal possession of a controlled substance charges in 2008.

Anyone with any information on the incident, or the two men sought for questioning are asked to contact the State Police in Richfield Springs at 315-858-2726 or 315-858-6014.
