Four women arrested for stealing, trying to run down loss prevention officer

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y.(WKTV) - Four Utica women are facing charges for allegedly shoplifting at Macy's in Sangertown Square Mall, and then trying to run down a loss prevention officer.

New Hartford Police say they were called to the scene of an accident in the mall parking lot a little before noon on December 23.

When they arrived, the officer from Macy's reported behing struck by a vehicle while attempting to stop the females from shoplifting.

He gave a description of the females and the vehicle they fled in.

New Hartford Police gave that description to other police agencies.

The vehicle was located on Steuben St. in Utica a short time later.

Arrested are Lakia Dickson, 24., Shaquayia A. Jackson, 20 and Dijonnaie J. Spratt, 19 all of Utica. All three face one count of Petit Larceny.

Dickson was also charged with 1 count of of Harrassment.

Police also arrested Erica N. Austin, 22 for 1 count of Reckless Endangerment in connection with the incident. Austin was also issued traffic tickets for Unlicensed Operation, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, and Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Auto Accident.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges are possible.
