Gadson pleads guilty to shooting death in Utica
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica man has pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge involving the shooting death earlier this year of another man in west Utica.
Jemal Gadson shot Jermaine Stubbs to death on Lenox Ave after the two were seen arguing outside a Varick Street bar.
U.S. Marhsals caught up with Gadson a few months later, living in his aunt's house in North Carolina.
Gadson was originally charged with gun possession and a murder charge, which could have brought a 25 year to life sentence on conviction.
In exchange for his plea to manslaughter, Gadson will spend the next 20 years in prison.
He'll be sentenced February 8 in Oneida County Court.
