KIRKLAND, N.Y. (WKTV) - Police in the Town of Kirkland are looking for the public's help after three separate shooting incidents over the weekend, all within a half hour of each other.

Officials say two people were almost hit by bullets, one of those people being a twelve year old girl.

Police are calling all three shootings "dangerous rifle shot incidents" and say they all happened between 4 and 4:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. During one of those incidents, police say a bullet flew by a 12 year old girl who was in her bathroom.

The first report to police came in at 4 p.m. from a resident of the Lewiston at Pheasant Run Apartments off of Clinton Street in Clark Mills. That resident said gunshots could be heard dangerously close to the apartments. Police responded and didn't find anyone shooting in the area.

Then, at 4:10 p.m., less than a half-mile away, a hunter sitting in a tree stand actually called police himself, saying he was nearly shot when someone had just fired a number of bullets in his direction, some of which hit the tree his tree stand was in.

At 4:30, about two miles away, a homeowner on Post Street called police and said a bullet had hit the upper level of the back part of his home and that bullet traveled through two walls inside the home, and narrowly missed his 12-year-old daughter who was in the upstairs bathroom. NEWSChannel 2 spoke with the mother of the girl Monday morning who said her daughter is traumatized after having the bullet pass so close to her. Both mother and father say they are just so thankful their daughter was not hit. The girl's mom said she just hopes the person responsible is found.
