Man accused of choking, strangling girlfriend
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica man faces several felony charges following a domestic dispute.
Utica Police officials say Jason Butler, 31, of Rutger Street repeatedly punched his girlfriend in the face during a dispute on March 2nd. Police say the victim pretended she was on the phone with her friend and called 911. Officials say when he learned she was actually on the phone with 911 he put a knife to her throat.
Butler is then accused of throwing her on the bed and choking her until she nearly passed out until police arrived.
Butler is charged with:
*Aggravated family offense (a class E felony), *Strangulation in the second degree (a class D felony), * Menacing in the 2nd degree (misdemeanor).
