Man accused of shooting into parked car rejects plea offer

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A former "Fugitive of the Week" entered a not-guilty plea to attempted murder Wednesday in Oneida County Court.

Kwamae Smith, 20, is accused of firing ten rounds from a handgun into a parked car full of people, including children, on Schuyler Street in Utica on May 27, 2010. Police said the target of that shooting was Pernell Flanders, 22, who himself plead not-guilty on Tuesday to attempted murder for a separate shooting on June 26near Brinckerhoff Ave and Leah Street.

Smith has been charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon after turning himself in to authorities following a search that included a feature as a "Fugitive of the Week."
