Man charged for trying to sell prescription drugs, striking officers

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - Herkimer Police say they have arrested a man suspected of trying to sell prescription drugs and then struck officers as he tried to flee.

Around 5 p.m. on Monday, October 1, Herkimer Police received a report a man trying to sell prescription pain killers and located John A. Bormann, 24, of Mohawk Street. During the interview police said Bormann handed officers a bottle of medication with the label torn off.

When Bormann was told he was under arrest, police say he resisted and attempted to flee, striking officers during the attempt.

He has been charged with harassment, resisting arrest and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was arraigned in village court and sent to Herkimer County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash and $50,000 bond.
