Man faces to 4-8 years for fatal Schuyler crash

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Rochester man who killed a Schuyler woman while he was speeding away from police along Route 5 in May will now spend the next four to eight years in state prison.

Daniel Conklin pleaded guilty in Herkimer County Court on Tuesday to the three top counts against him - manslaughter, assault and unlawful fleeing from a police officer.

Gail Pietruska, of Frankfort died in the crash and her sister Louise Medallis was seriously injured.

Conklin will be sentenced on May 2.
