NHPD: Sears employee and sister steal from store

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - A local Sears employee is facing charges after New Hartford Police say she conspired to help her sister steal merchandise from the store at the Sangertown Square Mall.

New Hartford Police say that 18-year-old Quinnetta Lilley, of Utica, failed to scan several items being purchased by her sister, 16-year-old Kerri Rucker. Lilley also deleted several items from the cash register records that had initially been rung up, according to police.

The total value of merchandise stolen was about $250, police say.

Both sisters are facing petit larceny charges along with falsifying business records.
