RICHFIELD, N.Y. (WKTV) - A teenager from Onondaga County faces felony charges in connection with an incident that took place in Richfield Wednesday afternoon. State Police say the 17-year-old made a false bomb threat to a group of students on a school bus.

Baseball players from Onondaga Central School were on buses headed to Cooperstown for a tournament when one of the students received an anonymous text message saying that there was a bomb on the bus. The buses stopped at the intersection of US Highway 20 and County Route 24 in the Town of Richfield. After an inspection State Police and the Otsego County Sheriff's Department found the vehicles were safe.

17-year-old Antheny Bush of Nedrow is charged with falsely reporting an incident in the second degree, a class "E" felony. Bush was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Onondaga Court at a later date.

The New York State Police K9 Unit assisted the State Police and Otsego County Sherriff's Department with the investigation.
