New Hartford business owner accused of trying to have sex with young girl
BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. (WKTV) - A New Hartford business owner was arrested in Bergen County, New Jersey after allegations of attempts to sexually assault a child, according to law enforcement officials.
59-year-old William Potoczny, of Paris Road, was arrested without incident after investigation that revealed that Potoczny was chatting with a person he thought was the parent of a six-year-old girl, according to Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli.
Potoczny is the owner of Weather Tite Fencing in New Hartford.
During what officials call a "sexually explicit chat," the suspect said he wanted to engage in sex activities with the child and explain what acts he wanted to perform, including videotaping and photographing the interaction.
Potoczny also sent pornographic videos to the parent and instructed the parent to have the child view them, according to Molinelli.
He is charged with attempted aggravated sexual assault, attempt to endanger the welfare of a child, attempt to transmit obscenity using pornography.
Potoczny was sent to the Bergen County Jail on $500,000 bail.
New Hartford Police was not able to provide any information as to if an local investigation will take place.
