Police: Boonville man allowed underage drinking party at home
BOONVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Boonville man is facing multiple charges after police say he allowed 15 teenagers to drink alcohol at his home.
According to Boonville Police, 41-year-old Truman Vaughn faces 15 counts, one for each teen, of procuring an alcoholic beverage for someone under the age of 21. He also faces eight counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to police.
Police responded to a party at 132 Ford Street after complains of noise in the area and a fight taking place on the property.
Authorities found 15 teenagers, ranging in ages from 14 to 19, drinking alcohol. They say Truman, the owner of the residence, was at home at the time and provided the alcohol.
Vaughn was sent to the Oneida County Jail.
Also charged were the teenagers drinking at the party: one 16-year-old not named, three 17-year-olds not named, 18-year-old Dustin Lynch of Boonville, 18-year-old Rory Shannon of Boonville, 18-year-old Samantha Stanford of Boonville, 19-year-old Joshua Wilcox of Boonville, 18-year-old Thomas Warcup of Rome and 18-year-old Santino Deblasiis of Rome.
Police say the parents of the 17-year-olds and the 16-year-old were contacted and were released to an adult. The three 15-year-olds and the 14-year-old were released to their parents.
Police say the investigation is continuing and more charges are pending.
