Police: Man tried to scrap other man's property

FRANKFORT, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica man has been charged after authorities say he tried to scrap the property of another man at a Scrap Metal facility in the Town of Frankfort.

According to Town of Frankfort Police, David K. Ingerham, of Utica was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Shortly before 9 a.m. on Friday, November 30, the owner of Metal Logix in Utica told police he saw Ingerham attempting to scrap his property at Crash's Scrap Metal in Frankfort. Police say the owner of Metal Logix confronted Ingerham about his property and Ingerham fled on foot.

He was later apprehended by town police hiding under a trailer.

Ingerham was arraigned in Frankfort Town Court and sent to the Herkimer County Jail in lieu of cash bail.

Police say is also a parolee for a third-degree grand larceny conviction and that more charges are pending.
