Police seize ounces of cocaine from Utica apartment
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Police seized more than 12 ounces of cocaine and arrested the man allegedly responsible, according to law enforcement officials. Police say that members of the Oneida County Drug Enforcement Task Force executed a no-knock search warrant on a first-floor apartment at 305 Hubbell Street. Officials say that investigators seized more than 12 ounces of powder cocaine, with a street value of approximately $35,000. Additional drug paraphernalia, such as cutting agents, packing materials, scales and a loaded .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol with extra ammunition magazines was also located in the residence, according to UPD. Police arrested 44-year-old Gilbert Torres and charged him with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, criminal possession of a weapon with intent to use unlawfully against another.
