Suspect hit with top murder counts in Buffalo shooting
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A high school dropout has been arraigned on
upgraded charges of first-degree murder in three of four fatal shootings outside a downtown Buffalo bar. Riccardo McCray is accused of opening fire on a crowd outside the City Grill early on August 14. A grand jury on Wednesday also handed up a charge of second-degree murder in one of the slayings. In addition, the 23-year-old was charged with attempted murder for wounding four other people. If convicted, he could get life in prison without parole. McCray, who was in special education programs before quitting high school, pleaded not guilty to four counts of second-degree murder last week after he surrendered to authorities. Some victims were part of a group attending a wedding anniversary celebration. (Copyright 2010 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) |
