Suspect in Rochester bank robbery caught after high speed chase in Utica

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A man wanted in connection with a bank robbery near Rochester was arrested after a high speed chase in Utica Thursday. Ruslan Konvoalchuk was under surveillance on Downer Avenue when he was seen leaving a home there around 2:30pm.

A high speed chase followed with Utica Police and members of the Regional Fugitive Task Force. It ended in a mobile home park on Herkimer Road.

Konvoalchuk reportedly robbed a bank on July 15th in Greece, NY. He's charged here in Utica with fleeing a police officer, resisting arrest and several traffic violations including failure to keep right, failure to use designated lane, passing a red light and speeding violations.

Konvoalchuk was turned over to Monroe County Sheriff's Department.
