Trenton Town Supervisor, former Oneida County Republican Chair charged with sex abuse

TRENTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - Authorities say The Trenton Town Supervisor and former Oneida County Republican Chair has been charged with sexual abuse. According to Dean Obernesser of the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center, Mark P. Scheidelman, 52, has been charged with one count of first-degree sex abuse. Scheidelman was arraigned in the Town of Floyd Court and remanded to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $25,000. The Advocacy Center said it is alleged that Scheidelman had sexual contact with a child under the age of 11 years old while in the Town of Trenton. The victims have been offered counseling through the Child Advocacy Center. Scheidelman is the Town Supervisor for the Town of Trenton and a former Republican Chair of Oneida County.
