Two arrested following 8-month investigation in New Hartford
NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (WKTV) - The New Hartford Police Department announced the arrest of two males with multiple crimes, Saturday night, following an 8-month investigation of a burglary.
According to Police, the NHPD received a burglary complaint on Winchester Dr in the Town of New Hartford in May of 2013.
Following an 8-month investigation into that burglary, along with several investigations into other incidents, the New Hartford Police Department determined that they had gathered probable cause to arrest Hamadi H. Abdullahi, 18, of Utica, along with a 14-year old juvenile male, also from Utica.
Both offenders are charged with Burglary in the Second Degree, Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, both Felonies, and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, a Misdemeanor.
Abdullahi also faces charges of Petit Larceny in addition to the charges above, due to a separate incident that occurred at Target in the Sangertown Square Mall on January 4th, 2013.
The juvenile was arraigned in Oneida County Family Court, and Abdullahi was arraigned on the latter charges on Jan. 4th, 2013, in the Town of New Hartford, and is scheduled to appear to answer the newest charges at a later date.
