Two men sentenced for September 2011 home burglary in Herkimer

HERKIMER, N.Y. (WKTV) - Two men were sentenced in Herkimer County Court on Friday following their conviction for a residential burglary in September 2011.

Paul McDowell, 26 was sentenced to nine years in state prison with five years post release supervision for his conviction of first-degree burglary. Joshua McDowell, 24, was sentenced to one to three years in state prison for his conviction of third-degree burglary.

Acting District Attorney Jeff Carpenter says that both men were connected to a residential burglary where the residents were confronted in their home, a matter that was investigated by New York State Police.

Both men were sent to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility awaiting transfer to state prison.
