Two teens charged for chainsaw burglary in Lewis County

By WKTV News

LYONSDALE, N.Y. (WKTV) - Two Lewis County teens are being held on charges that stem from the burglary of a chainsaw from a locked shed in the Town of Lyonsdale.

On June 13, State Police in Lowville arrested Bradley Q. Rogers, 18, of Lyons Falls and James M. Rice, 18, of Port Leyden, charging each of them with third-degree burglary. Authorities said the charges stem from a burglary that occurred at 7456 Penny Settlement Road in the Town of Lyonsdale.

State Police said the duo forced their way into a locked shed at that property, stealing a chainsaw from within.

Rogers and Rice were arraigned in the Village of Lowville Court, and were subsequently remanded to the Lewis County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 and $250 cash bail, respectively.

This investigation is ongoing with additional charges possible, as police continue to investigate several other burglaries which were reported in close proximity to the above location during the same time frame.
