UPD: Mother and daughter steal money intended for Wyman family fundraiser

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Police have arrested a mother and a daughter after releasing surveillance video of the two females taking money out of a bank bag at WalMart.

That money allegedly stolen was ultimately intended to be used for a fundraiser for the family of fallen Oneida County Sheriff's Deputy Kurt Wyman, according to police.

Utica Police officials say that 65-year-old Charlotte Welch of Jay Street and 36-year-old Cyrena Welch of Sauquoit were identified by members of the public who called police to say they recognized the women.

They were both charged with grand larceny.
