Domestic dispute leads to stabbing of man in Utica
UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - What began a domestic dispute on Neilson Street in the City of Utica Monday ended with one man being stabbed.
Utica Police say officers responded to a residence in the 1600 block of Neilson Street around 6:30 pm on Monday for a report of a domestic dispute, and found a male bleeding from stab wounds
Authorities say the entire incident started when Danielle Williams, 27, of Utica came over to retrieve the children she and the victim had together. Police said the two are no longer together as a couple. The victim told officers that they began to argue and during that argument, Danielle Williams placed a knife to the victim's throat and threatened to kill him and then herself.
He was able to get her outside, at which point police say her parents - Terry Williams, 48, and Kim Williams, 47, both of Utica - arrived in scene. The victim told Terry Williams to stay away but then father and daughter proceeded to punch the victim.
The victim was able to get back inside the house and call 911 while Kim Williams had taken the children and placed them in her car.
The victim objected to his children being taken by her, so officers told Kim Williams to stay at the scene until it could be sorted out. Police say she did not listen to police and left the scene in her vehicle with the children.
An officer had to leave the scene to stop Kim Williams and bring her and the children back to the scene. At the scene, officers told her that the children were going to stay with their father and she refused to open the door for officers. After some time, officers were able to convince her to open the door, but she stood in the doorway to the back seat and would not remove the children. She was then taken into custody.
