Utica couple charged in animal abuse case involving mink

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica couple is charged in an alleged case of animal abuse. Utica Police were called to a home on Flagg Avenue after a concerned citizen called the mayor's office complaining about the smell coming from a backyard.

When officers arrived, they found a cage containing several mink. One of the animals was dead, the other four were covered in feces and showing signs of neglect.

The animals did not have any food or water. The owners, Suzanne Evans and Carl Selden are both charged with five counts of torturing and injuring animals.
