Utica teen arrested for third time this month

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Utica teenager has been charged with the same crime three times this month. Utica Police say 18-year old Rondell Jones is once again charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the third degree.

Police say Jones and 18-year-old Raheem Spratt were arrested on Monday. Officials say Spratt was driving a stolen Toyota Camry in the area of Steuben and Arthur Streets. Police say when they attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle, it sped off going through a stop sign.

Police say the driver and the occupants exited the vehicle while it was in motion and the vehicle continue to travel until it struck a house on the 1400 block of Steuben Street.

Both Spratt and Jones were later apprehended on the 1300 block of Miller Street.

Utica Police say this is the third time this month that Rondell Jones has been arrested for driving and/or occupying in stolen cars. Jones was also arrested on February 4th and 18th.
