Victim's family at sentencing: "What kind of father are you?"

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - The family of 20-year-old murder victim Jadreck Baker, of Rome, addressed their son and nephew's killer, Bobby Ray Hunt, at Hunt's sentencing today in Oneida County Court.

Hunt shot and killed Baker in Rome back in May, following an argument.  Police caught up with Hunt several weeks later in North Carolina. He pleaded guilty to manslaughter in this case.

Friday at Hunt's sentencing in Oneida County Court, five members of victim Jadreck Baker's family addressed him.

"We can never have the chance to see him again, never get the chance to hug and kiss him and tell him we love him. What kind of a father are you when you have kids of your own?" asked Baker's father, Terrance Corbett.

Baker's mother, Sandra Baker, said she forgave her son's killer and that she hoped he'd turn his life around. Baker's sister, at one point, ran out of the courtroom in tears.

When given the opportunity by the judge, Hunt himself said he had nothing to say. Hunt will spend the next 20 years in prison.
