Lewis County teens accused of stealing cooler of beer

CROGHAN, N.Y. (WKTV) - Two Lewis County teens are facing charges after authorities say they stole a cooler full of beer from a residence.

According to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office, Ryan M. Noftsier, 16, of Lowville, and Andrew N. Nickles, 19, of Castorland, have been charged with petit larceny and an "ABC (Alcoholic Beverage Control) Violation Charge" if unlawful possession of alcohol by a person under the age of 21.

Authorities said both Noftsier and Nickles were arrested after allegedly stealing a cooler full of beer from a residence in the Town of Croghan. Upon arresting the subjects, authorities said both were found in possession of the stolen beer and had consumed some of the beer.

Both were processed at the Lewis County Sheriff's Office and released on appearance tickets returnable in the Town of Croghan at a later date.
