Hamilton man facing several sex charges related to children under the age of 11 and 17

HAMILTON, N.Y. (WKTV) - A Hamilton man is facing several charges that authorities say are the result of two separate cases involving children under the age of 17.

Madison County Sheriff's Investigators arrested Gregory P. Paul, 28, of Hamilton, in after allegedly having sexual contact with children - one under the age of 11 and one under the age of 17.

In the first case, Paul was charged with one count of first-degree sexual abuse, as well as one count of endangering the welfare of a child in regard to actions against a victim who is less than eleven years old.

In the second case, Paul was charged was one count of third-degree criminal sexual act, one count of endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of unlawfully dealing with a children regard to actions against a victim who is less than 17 years old.

Authorities said both incidents occurred over the time period between July 2010 and January 2011. They were reported to Sheriff's Investigators in July 2011 after the victims reported the contact to family members.

Paul was arraigned in the Town of Lincoln Court. He is currently being held at the Madison County Jail on a total of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 secured bond.

He is due back in Court on September 1, 2011.
