Mayor of Earlville resigns following grand larceny charges

EARLVILLE, N.Y. - The mayor of Earlville has turned in her resignation after being charged with grand larceny.

According to Syracuse newspaper The Post Standard, Toni Campbell allegedly spent more than $42,000 using a credit card that was issued to Chenango Valley Pet Foods."

At the time, Campbell worked as the store's Financial Manager.

Campbell did tell police investigators that she had never stolen any money from the village. Village officials told the paper that their coffers appear to be fine and no money is missing.
