Pair charged for stealing more than $2,000 worth of DVDS from Walmart
LOWVILLE, N.Y. (WKTV) - Two men from Utica are facing charges after authorities say they stole more than $2,000 worth of DVDs from the Walmart in Lowville. According to the Lewis County Sheriff's Office, John N. Markuch, 63, and Nathaniel Walker III, 39, both of Utica have been charged in the shoplifting incident, which authorities say occurred on January 15. The duo were previously charged for the theft of thousands of dollars worth of Gillette razors from the Walmart following a traffic stop in Remsen. Authorities say the DVDs allegedly stolen were from the same incident. Makuch is charged with third-degree burglary fourth-degree grand larceny and fifth-degree conspiracy. Authorities said he had previously been banned from Walmart for shoplifting. Walker was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and fifth-degree conspiracy. The two men were arraigned in the Town of Lowville Court and sent to the Lewis County Jail on no bail.
