Police: Oneida man punched woman in stomach, knowing she was pregnant

ONEIDA, N.Y. (WKTV) - An Oneida man is facing charges after authorities say he punched a woman in the stomach, knowing she was pregnant.

According to City of Oneida Police, Ronald R. Campany II, 18, of Oneida was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree harassment.

Police said Campany is alleged to have punched a female victim in the stomach knowing she is 8 months pregnant, recklessly causing risk of injury to her and the unborn child.

The woman was treated at a local hospital, but police said they did not know the woman's condition Monday afternoon.

Campany is scheduled to appear in court on September 9, 2011.
