ONEIDA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Police say a man who crashed his vehicle into a tree in the City of Oneida is believed to have been high on the substance known as "bath salts."

According to Oneida Police, around 4:21 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, Craig S. Revette, 32, of Vernon was traveling south on South Willow Street in Oneida when he crossed over the center of the road, exited the road and struck a tree.

Based on Revette's condition, statements and evidence, police said it was determined Revette was under the influence of bath salts he had smoked earlier. Revette was charged with failure to keep right, reckless driving for allegedly unreasonably endangering other users of the highway by driving while his ability was affected by "bath salts," police said.

He will answer the charges in Oneida City Court.
