BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A person familiar with the investigation tells The Associated Press that police in Buffalo, N.Y., are looking for a trauma surgeon in connection with the fatal shooting of a 33-year-old woman.

The person says police are looking for Timothy Jorden Jr. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is continuing.

Police haven't identified any suspect in the shooting Wednesday morning at the Erie County Medical Center.

The slain woman has not been identified by police. She was shot several times around 8 a.m. in a stairwell at a building on the medical campus.

Jorden is a 49-year-old former U.S. Army medic who was licensed as a surgeon in New York in March 2002.
