Two charged after drugs found in car after traffic stop

SYLVAN BEACH, N.Y. - Two individuals have been charged after State Police say they found drugs in their vehicle during a traffic stop.

According to New York State Police out of Sylvan Beach, Allison E. Lynch, 17, of Middleville and Timothy A. Edick, 23, of Rome were charged following a traffic stop on February 15, 2012.

Authorities said Lynch was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Edick was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, State Police said.

The charges stem from the discovery of marijuana and cocaine inside the vehicle after it was stopped for a loud muffler, State Police said.

Both were issued appearance tickets and they are to appear in the Town of Vienna court on February 28, 2012.
