Two charged after drugs, guns found in Town of Lee residence

LEE, N.Y. (WKTV) - Two women are facing charges after authorities say they located cocaine, drug paraphernalia and two long guns at a residence in the Town of Lee. According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office; members of the Oneida County Drug Enforcement Task Force along with the Oneida County Sheriff's Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant on March 14 at the home on State Route 26 in Lee. Investigators say that inside the home they located a quantity of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and two long guns. Authorities say Sharice L. Whaley, 19, of Canastota and Katie L. Burns, 23, of Frankfort, who were inside the residence, were taken into custody and both charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. The two were arraigned on those charges in the Town of Lee Court, and remanded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail.
