UPD COLD CASE: Ilion man shot on Wetmore Street in Utica, September 2007

UTICA, N.Y. (WKTV) - Utica Police continue to seek leads in the 2007 fatal shooting of an Ilion man that has remained unsolved since that September night.

On September 24, 2007 around 7:45 p.m., Utica Police officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 300 block of Wetmore Street.

Once on the scene, police officers found Jessie E. Wood, 42, of Ilion, suffering from a gunshot wound. Wood was brought to St. Elizabeth Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses on the scene observed two suspects run from the area but they were not located.

Wood was survived by his parents, 2 sisters and a 10 year old son.
